Vocal Coach/Educator
Vocal Coaching
I have been coaching, accompanying, and teaching for over 15 years. I love nothing more than helping clients learn new audition material, songs, and helping them book the gig.
*While I have taught private voice, I am not specifically a vocal technician. As a vocal coach, I'm focused more on improving and unifying all the elements of musical theater storytelling: vocal quality, acting, general musicianship, proper pitches, interpretation. The goal being: to create a wholly complete musical performance, be it for auditions, cabarets, or show prep.

*Clients booked shows on Mamma Mia, Wicked, Phantom of the Opera, Les Miserables, The Bridges of Madison County, Spring Awakening, Next To Normal, Sound of Music (TV Movie), Lazarus (the David Bowie musical) and many, many more.
TEACHING
I love teaching.
My first opportunity to teach musical theater was at The Studio in New Canaan, CT where for 5 years I taught private voice, K-6 group theater classes, and audition workshops.
In 2009 I travelled to Shanghai, China to teach and music direct a series of master classes at a the Shanghai Music Conservatory. This led to another international job in Moscow, Russia. I was hired in 2011 to music direct Once on this Island at the Russian Theater Academy (GITIS). The director, David Swan, and I lived there for 2 months to put the show up and then returned 6 months later to rehearse and maintain this repertory production.
Deidre and Kevin on top of Corcovado/Christ the Redeemer in Rio. We were teaching in Brazil on behalf of the New York Film Academy.
I've also been associated with the New York Film Academy off and on since it was started by VP Boyle(whose private classes I had accompanied for some time). Fellow dance teacher and actor, Deidre Goodwin and I were asked to teach a 4 week musical theater workshop series in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in early 2013. Since then I've been teaching and accompanying various classes at the new NYFA Battery Park Campus.
My long term teaching goal is to play an active role in a university program that trains young people for a career in musical theater.
